Miriam Rayevsky went to college in San Francisco for directing, although sculpting characters and animating them has been her hobby since she was sixteen years old. After directing and producing numerous short films, she discovered that bending, breaking, and controlling clay figures, who did as they were told and did not ask questions about mantras, to be more enjoyable than bending, breaking, and controlling actors. Currently Miriam divides her time between New York City and working with an entourage of clay people in her studio, an old three story red barn in the Catskill Mountains.
